Creston Pyng: Updates App and Installation Process

During the 2014 CEDIA Expo, Crestron launched Pyng, a home automation control hub and app that simplifies the programming and installation process.  You can read our first article about Crestron Pyng here.

How Does Pyng Work?

Pyng enables configuration and control of Crestron’s infiNET EX-equipped lighting products, motorized shades, thermostats, occupancy sensors, and door locks. The products connect via RF to the Pyng hub.

Pyng Updated Version

The new version of Pyng will be available in  five weeks. The new feature will make it easier to set up audio distribution in every room of a house with such sources as Pandora, iTunes, XM AM FM radio, iPod and more. The app will be able to connect to the  72 independent zones available when using Crestron’s amp at 140 watts per channel. Crestron stated, the solution makes unnecessary the programming expertise currently required of home-automation systems that must be programmed via laptop.

Pyng Ease of Touchscreen Configuration

The Pyng app now runs directly on TSW-552/752/1052 touch screens as soon as they are connected to the network. This new feature enables faster installation.

My Crestron Cloud Servicesimages

On Feb. 23,  the myCrestron.com cloud service for all Pyng and 3-series home-control systems will be available. With the MyCloud service, systems will be able to be remotely monitored and managed. This means all devices will be on an online dashboard to provide a comprehensive status update at a glance. From the dashboard, installers drill down to system-level and device-level event logs that Crestron systems automatically send to the cloud.

AHT currently monitors all AHT designed Crestron systems, but this new feature by Crestron will simplify the process simply because it’s all inclusive within a Crestron design system.
