Miami Connected Home

Challenge

AHT Residential worked hand-in-hand with the architect, interior designer, and homeowner to create a comfortable, well-designed living environment with Crestron technology in this Miami Beach, Florida, Home.

Solution

A Crestron home automation system was designed and developed to control the home’s motorized shades, lighting, audio and video, tv lifts, media players, HVAC, security, cameras, intercoms, and phone system.

Living Room & Bar Area

The living room and bar area are designed for entertaining. The room’s large windows made Crestron’s motorized shades a necessity. The custom-mounted television in the bar offers maximum viewing for friends and family who come together to watch the big game or event. Crestron’s iPad app controls and synchronizes all the action. With a touch of a button, users can adjust audio/video settings, dim lights, lower or raise shades, and adjust the room’s temperature. You can also include the Backyard & Pool Areas, which have outdoor speakers and media sources that are also controlled by Crestron technology.

Dining & Breakfast Area

The dining and breakfast rooms are divided by a wall with an opening in the middle. The design of the two rooms enables people in the breakfast area to communicate with individuals in the dining area. In addition, the television lift is Crestron-controlled, which allows a user to select the television lift setting on the remote or iPad. The lift rises from the center of the window opening. The lift also swivels 180 degrees, allowing for viewing either on the dining room side or breakfast side.

Media Room

The upstairs media room includes a mounted television along with a motorized screen and projector. All of the room’s functions are controlled using Crestron technology. The Crestron system controls the Meridian 7200 speakers, media players, lifts, lighting, and motorized shades.

Master Bedroom

In the master bedroom there is a Crestron table top TSW1052, which controls the room’s lighting, motorized shades, audio and video, and HVAC system. Additionally, this touch panel is set up to control the rest of the home’s functions with an all on or all off mode.

Master Bathroom

The master bathroom has a flush-mounted Seura waterproof television in the center wall of the shower. There is a Crestron TSW1052 wall-mounted touch panel that controls the room’s lighting, motorized shades, and audio/video functions.

Kid’s Rooms

The residents have two young children. In each of their bedrooms,  there is a TSW752 touch panel, custom designed with Crestron’s smart graphics for each personality in mind and so fun and easy to use they can adjust their room’s audio and video, lighting and motorized shades either by voice command or by touch. The panel also enables them to easily communicate with anyone using the home’s intercom and phone system.
