Ultimate Media Room
Challenge
The homeowner requested renovating a gym room into a one of kind media room experience that his family and friends would enjoy. One of the requests was to have the capability of viewing multiple televisions or sources at once. Other requests included: tontrolling a DJ booth, audio system, HVAC, cameras, lighting. and motorized shades.
Solution
AHT Residential supplied, designed and installed the state-of-the-art media room with all of the clients requests. The main attraction in the renovated room is the nine-screen Runco Video Wall. The entertainment room centerpiece gives you the ability to watch nine different sources at the same time or watch one source on all screens. AHT Residential designed and programmed a Crestron touch screen which allows users to arrange and change sources to different screens. The touch screen not only controls the Video Wall, it automates many other features installed in this ultimate media room experience. This includes:
- Lighting
- HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning)
- Cameras
- DJ Booth
- Audio/Video
- Motorized shades
The LED lighting in the media room creates effects similar to a modern city club. With the easy to use touchscreen, users can change the light color and even add a strobe effect.
Custom cabinetry was built for the Genelec surround sound. The cabinets conceal the speakers and sub woofers without compromising audio quality.
The equipment is all stored in a separate room where AHT Technicians organized the equipment rack. The cables are all color coordinated, labeled and tied together making troubleshooting and future service calls a breeze.
The result of the media room is a one-of-a-kind fully automated media experience.
AHT suggested a video wall with 9 different 46-inch screens. For control, AHT programmed custom Crestron touch panels. The Crestron control system controls the audio/video, lighting, motorized shading, camera systems, HVAC, and DJ booth.
