For our latest posts, we have complied three emerging technology companies that are seeking to change the way people live and interact with their surroundings.

Welle

“World’s first sonar based gesture control gadget that can make any surface interactive.”

Welle is a smart device that instantly turns any surface into a smart controller using embedded Sonar and a highly sensitive gesture algorithm. It gives you the ability to use simple gestures or shortcuts to control your favorite functions or connected devices.

Welle launched on Kickstarter in March and surpassed their funding goal of $20,000 on the first day. Their project has to date raised $138,000. How does it work? Simply place the tiny Welle on any convenient surface or location, or mount Welle on a wall with the included 3M stickers. Smaller than a smartphone at less than 3 inches long, and weighing just 3.5 ounces, it fits just about anywhere. Working as a universal remote for all kinds of IoT devices and appliances, Welle uses the most advanced Sonar-based gesture control, replacing the multiple traditional household remote controls for a convenient connected home and office experience. Welle recognizes standardized gestures and also lets you assign your own gestures or handwriting short-cuts to interact with devices everywhere in your life.

PassiveDom – 3D Printed Smart Homes

PassivDom is an Ukrainian technological startup that produces autonomous self-learning module houses made using 3D-Printing. PassivDom is the first totally autonomous house in the world that doesn’t need any fuel combustion even in Arctic climate conditions. The module uses only ecologically clean solar energy for all inhabitants’ needs: climate control (heating and cooling), water generation, air quality and oxygen control. The house itself produces electricity for all household appliances.

All devices in the off grid home are connected to the Internet Of Things network and can be managed remotely via an iPhone or Android device. Internet service is provided free of charge for a year. A self-learning system controls air quality: carbon dioxide content, humidity and oxygen. The home is also connected to an online service system for distance monitoring and fault prevention.

Additional high-tech options include an integrated home theater, satellite TV, blinds for all windows, and wood-fired fireplace.
